AI Tutor Chat-bot

Inside Pearson Plus is a tool called Channels, which uses short videos and practice to help students easily understand complex concepts.

I was assigned the task of creating Channels, an AI bot. His main goal was to help students with their homework and helping them prepare for tests.

They can ask him whatever question they have, and he will provide them a step-by-step answer, related videos to their questions, and related practice questions with video answers.

My first step was to understand the problem and the users’ needs. To achieve this, I conducted extensive competitor research, and in parallel, I conducted user interviews to understand their needs better.

Eventually, we ended up with two versions of the AI chatbot that the team was happy with. The next step was to test both of them.
The dev team decided to build the two options, and we released it as POC for a small group of users. We tested both options for several weeks, creating moderated user testing while conducting several small and quick iterations to improve the experience and the design.

We are continually releasing small features, testing them, and enhancing the overall AI tutor Chatbot experience on the web. We hope to release it later this year, also on the native app.
